Chair Yoga

Description: This class introduces Yogic concepts of “yoking” together the body, mind, and spirit through breath and movement. Carol offers a gentle, thoughtful practice that provides long-lasting benefits. Participants will be asked to sign a release form.

Tai Chi

Description: This Tai Chi class is a small group of practitioners who have been meeting weekly for the past 4 years. We practice the Sun 73 form and occasionally the Yang 24 form. Initially taught by Glen Ray, we have transitioned to a self-directed group. We welcome anyone interested in joining us. Some prior Tai Chi experience is helpful, but not required.

Hula Group

Description: Juneau students of the hula school Hālau Hula o Mānoa are committed to learning and preserving traditional Hawaiian hula under the tutelage of their Kumu (teacher) Kilohana Silve, who lives in Hawai’i. The students dance old-style and modern hula, and occasionally perform. The students travel to Hawai’i periodically for workshops with their teacher. Inquiries from interested parties are welcome, and participation in a couple of trial lessons can be arranged.

Description: The Daughters of the New Moon belly dance troupe in Juneau, Alaska, is dedicated to bringing residents a glimpse of an intriguing and beautiful art form. As a not-for-profit belly dance organization formed in 1983, we strive to educate and inspire Juneau community members by offering a variety of classes and performances for all ages. Our members continually strive to improve and learn this dance that has brought us together. We meet weekly for troupe rehearsals, with classes taught in the spring and fall.

Infant Massage Class

Description: Infant massage fosters bonding and one-on-one interaction with your baby. It strengthens the immune system, improves sleep patterns, reduces stress hormones, and calms babies. Additionally, it aids in weight gain and provides relief from gas, constipation, colic, teething, muscular tension, and growing pains.
Recommended for 2 to 8-month-old infants.
